Strengthening Communities Grant Initiative
Friday, March 23, 2012
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Jack Morris Ballroom, Wilder Student Center
University of Memphis Lambuth Campus
Strengthening Communities is an initiative of the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy and the Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Memphis, the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and the United Way of the MidSouth.
The programs in SCI are designed to build capacity in neighborhoods and community organizations while furthering the engaged scholarship activities of the university faculty. For more information on the program, visit http://www.memphis.edu/scgrants.
Grant awards are made each spring. Teams must include a community nonprofit organization and tenure track professor at the University of Memphis. Proposals should focus on implementing a neighborhood-based project. For the 2012 – 2013 grant round, projects in Madison County, Tennessee will be considered for funding.
Attend the Jackson Kickoff to learn more about the 2012 Strengthening Communities grant application program. Meet potential partners for your project. The event will promote community/university partnerships, showcase funded projects and provide an overview of the grant process.
