Founded in 1986, Youth Villages has an annual budget of $190 million (90% of revenue comes from public sources) with 2,700 employees committed to helping more than 20,000 children and families each year in 11 states and the District of Columbia. Youth Villages, seeks candidates for a Market Research Analyst to support our business development and government relations team efforts as it relates to growth and expansion for Youth Villages.
This position will be responsible for supporting program leadership and business development/strategy/government relations teams (e.g. competitor research, new funding stream research), researching possible states of interest for organization expansion, articulating/identifying reasons why states would be of interest or not of interest for a Youth Villages’ expansion opportunity, writing proposals for new business, writing recommendations for systems change, researching the market and our competitors (e.g. analysis of state funding streams, financial status, structure, referral sources, market share, etc.), and creating presentations to convey key information in a clear and concise manner.
Conducts market research on existing states to support strategic planning, business development, and government relations in those states, including research on state trends, funding streams, competitive landscape and customer needs
Researches possible states of interest for organization expansion (e.g. funding streams, state leadership profiles, existing providers/services)
Identifies and articulates reasons why states would be of interest/ not of interest to Youth Villages
Assists in initial and ongoing marketing efforts as well as presentations (marketing packets, works with Communications Dept to develop necessary materials, creates PowerPoint presentations for internal and external communications, writes letters and e-mails)
Establishes a strategy to approach new states and make contact with key players, including developing a contract framework to support continued efforts in new states, including economic analysis, Medicaid funding analysis, establishment of service rates and budgets, government structure and potential for contracts.
Communicates with program and other Youth Villages leaders, including CEO, during potential expansion periods and new site start-ups
Assists with drafting responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) of interest to the organization in order to grow services into other states and regions
Drafts and sends letters and engages in other forms of correspondence with key stakeholders regarding Youth Villages.
Engages in mass mailings, cold calls and other efforts to make individuals aware of Youth Villages
As a member of Business Development Department, must be flexible with additional job duties, including conference attendance, RFP development and contract adherence processes
A Master’s degree is preferred, a Bachelor’s degree with experience will be considered.
Experience conducting market research around child welfare and Medicaid funding streams required.
Experience writing of business proposals or grants required
Excellent Microsoft Office skills and communication skills (written and verbal) also required.
