New Transportation Service at UofMemphis: The Blue Line

> Now that the new campus shuttle bus has been revealed, here are a few facts about the newest way to get around campus:

> THE NAME

> The Blue Line name received the most votes by students, faculty and staff.

> TWO ROUTES

> The new shuttle service consists of 2 routes and 6 buses around the Main Campus (3.9 miles with 16 stops) and Park Avenue Campus (5.5 miles with 9 stops).

> RIDE FREE

> Just hop on during the day. After 5 p.m. you must show a UofMemphis ID card or be accompanied by someone with a UofMemphis ID card.

> WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE

> Each bus contains 26 seats and 2 wheelchair accessible spaces.

> LOW CARBON IMPRINT

> Each bus has a diesel engine capable of running on biodiesel fuel. The Blue Line will cut traffic and parking congestion by eliminating the need to drive your car and re-park to get to another building.

> REAL TIME SCHEDULE APPS

> GPS installed on all of the buses gives real-time location and can be viewed at memphis.transloc.com. Free native apps can be downloaded for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.

> SAFE AND SECURE

> Each bus is equipped with two security cameras.
