Today, I had the honor of attending the Spirit of Giving Awards, hosted by Volunteer Mid-South. This luncheon recognizes the many wonderful volunteers that our community has.Being admidst all those amazing people is truly humbling. I want to thank each of them for what they do to help strengthen our community.
Many of you also depend on volunteers to help continue meeting your missions. Some of you have formal volunteer programs that track who comes and how many hours they serve your organization and community. Others may have folks that drop in unannounced just to lend a hand. All of these people are valuable resources in our community. How do you recognize the work they do? Do you have tips you could share with other organizations about how to recruit and retain volunteers? Feel free to share your ideas and photos of the volunteers in your community.
